Dr. Lewin has a broad background in academic and industrial research, focusing primarily on system integration, including infrared chemical detection, energy management, and robotic sensors. In addition, he has performed research in computational mathematics, including computational fluid dynamics and high-performance computing.

Dr. Lewin teaches in the Technology Leaders Program, an interdisciplinary program that brings together topics in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and Computer Engineering, and uses his experience to guide students in the design of complex systems.
